The Back Story
Cynthia began her life journey in Tacoma, Washington and is currently living in Puyallup, Washington. Music was not a choice for her, it is her life calling. From the age of 4, she began playing various instruments and always had a talent for picking up any instrument and instantly creating with it.
At the age of 12 she received her first piano but not by typical means, a family member working in construction on a home found the old piano in a junk pile and brought it to Cynthia. This piano is a real-life version of one person’s trash is another person’s treasure and even came complete with a mouse nest nestled inside. The piano however was not in one piece but rather in numerous boxes so her father put it all back together and tuned it with pliers. The piano pedals never really worked well but ironically this would play a part in Cynthia’s unique style of playing piano to this day.
Eventually, Cynthia earned her way into owning her first real piano and also began playing the harp. She began focusing her natural artistic creativity and compositions on piano and harp and as she performs live for many types of events from weddings to concerts she constantly inspires those who hear her play.
Influence & Inspiration
Family has always been at the center of Cynthia’s creativity from her first piano to her compositions and inspirations today. Cynthia and her husband Mark Harp, aka…Mark The Pond Guy…just Google it) have 4 children who have all naturally inherited the creative gene and constantly inspire Cynthia’s musical instrumentals and compositions. Nature and more specifically waterfalls are also a big inspiration for Cynthia’s musical creativity as she composes, records and even performs live with both her piano and harp beside calming waterfalls and lush waterscapes. She creates music specifically to inspire, heal and soothe the ups and downs that life can certainly bring and that she has experienced in her own journey.
The Front Story
Cynthia Harp is moving in giant steps forward with her original compositions and own arrangements of popular songs in the coming year. Sky Star Records is recording multiple projects this year with Cynthia as the core artist featured on the new YouTube Channel and literally around the globe on many streaming platforms internationally including Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, and many others. These recordings begin in January and will start being released in the spring with the amazing visual art of the notable Tori Harp and her awe-inspired photography and videography. www.Toriharpimages.com Cynthia’s recordings will feature her playing piano and harp, in her arrangements of popular songs and her own compositions.
